Plank Exercise and Planking

What is planking and how can it help you lose your love handles and muffin top? You may have seen TV and media go crazy over what’s called *planking* where you see celebrities and other folks do the plank on different objects for the fun of it. Even Matt Lauer of the Today Show did it right on the news desk.

But planking makes for a wonderful exercise! Just like a yoga type where it is very low impact but makes those muscles work. The abs and love handles will not stand a chance when you are planking for exercise. Like the video above (cute, ain’t he?) and the image below shows you how to perform the proper plank exercise for maximum benefit.

Anyone can do this really, no matter if young or old just as long as you can physically get up off the floor by yourself when your done or have a planking buddy to help you. I know it seems silly, but try it! Stop reading this and go plank somewhere within 10 feet of you, then come back here and finish reading this post and comment your experience below (really, we wanna know what you think!).

Planking has been around for a while but has taken off because of the new media craze about it. The same goes for muffin tops I suppose, but it all comes back to one thing… love handles! these types of exercises will melt them off your expanding waistline for good and keep them away.

Is it a fun exercise? Well it can’t be as bad as sweating like a pig doing all kinds of strenuous workouts for those abs is it? So yes, it is fun to do and it won’t make you sweat like a pig in a Florida summer. Ever been to Florida, the heat and humidity is insane! Don’t know how people live there without going crazy. I went there once, saw a spider bigger than my hand and ran away never to return.

Don’t think of planking as a workout, think of it as fun and you may see the difference without even trying. Get your friends and family involved and see who can “plank” the longest. Do this all day all over town and you will wake up the next morning feeling the burn form it, so you know it works! The perfect plank exercise is the one you don’t have to plan, ya just do it.
